YOMA opposes inclusion of 12 Arunachalee villages to MAC
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The Youth Organization Movement of Arunachal Pradesh (YOMA) has condemned and opposed the inclusion of 12 villages of Likabali under Mishing Autonomous Council (MAC) by the Assam government.
In a release, it said, Arunachal is facing serious threat from Assam just like India faces from Pakistan. It is not a virgin issue but it has been done intentionally by Assam Government repeatedly to encroach Arunachal land. Such irrational and immature act will hamper the age old peaceful coexistence and communal harmony between both the states.
It further advocated for the state government to talk to its Assam counterpart to rectify the issue.
APATCYO demands replacement of forest corporation MD
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: Alleging that Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Ltd is running without its managing director claiming that he is camping in New Delhi, the Arunachal Pradesh Abo Tani Clans Youth Organization (APATCYO) has given 15 days ultimatum to the chairman for replacing him with a new appointment for the post.
In a letter to the chairman of the forest corporation, it said, due to his absence people face lost of problem.
Owing to the absence of the MD, no staff is regular in the office, it said.
The organization warned of taking action against the chairman if the demand is not fulfilled within the timeframe.

ITANAGAR, Oct 1: Apprising the deplorable condition of the Iron Bridge above Kamla river at Tamen, The All Raga Area Students’ Union (ARASU) has urged upon the concerned authority for its immediate repair.
In a release, it said that the bridge is about to collapse anytime and needs immediate repair before we witness any loss of lives and property.
While also claiming that most of the government officials and staff of Raga Administrative block are absent from their duty place, it demanded that immediate necessary action be taken against the absentee government employees.
It warned of democratic action against the absentee government employees if they continue to be absent.
The union further demanded a SBI ATM booth at main market, Raga.
Association demands compensation for deceased’s family
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: Informing that one W/C Chowkidar under Sangram PWD Division died of electrocution on October 28 last, the Nyobia Youth Association (NYA) has urged department of power (electrical) to compensate the family of the deceased in the form of a regular service.
In a release, it condemned the department for negligence of duty and irresponsible attitude which took away the life of the person.
It demanded SDO Sangram to set up enquiry committee to probe into the incident.
Suggesting OC PS Sangram be made the head of the committee, it said that if any staff found guilty should be suspended and punished as per law.
The association further requested chief engineer (electrical) to direct the executive engineer and his staff to shift to the power division at Sangram from its camp office, Ziro.
It warned of indefinite strike at Sangram if the shifting is not done within a month’s time.
AMSA comes to the support of AACWA
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The Arunachal Medicine Suppliers’ Association (AMSA) has urged state government to fulfill the six point demands of All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association.
In a release, it said, state Government earlier issued drug license to only those firms which deal with minimum 10 companies of medicinal items, but since last three financial years, health department is issuing direct licence where there are 100 plus govt approved drugs license firms.
If Assam government can adopt policy for the welfare of the tribal contractors by adopting 1% Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) during tendering/quotation, why can’t the same be applied in our state? it questioned.

BJP opposes appointment of retd. IAS officers as principal advisor
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has viewed the appointment of retired IAS officer Sharada Prasad as the Principle Advisor to Chief Minister seriously and demanded immediate revocation of the appointment.
Describing the appointment of a retired IAS officer in the post as ridiculous and against the interest of state’s financial health, BJP said that state government could have appointed any IAS or APCS cadre from the state in place of Prasad, who is very new to the state.
The party also flayed the Chief Secretary, GoAP for allegedly misleading the Government by recommending the name of Sharada Prasad as the Principle Adviser to the Chief Minister without approval of the State Cabinet and having a second thought about the financial health of the state and its people.

School land damaged by overflowing stream
ITANAGAR, Oct 1 : Apprising that Govt Primary School, Sood village suffered huge damage by the overflow of stream due to the blocked drain during heavy rainfall on September 29, it’s school managing committee has requested Capital DC to direct the executing agency, TK Construction company of the Trans Arunachal Highway, Yupia to divert the stream towards another side to prevent further damage.
In a complaint letter submitted to Capital DC, it said, that it had many a time requested the agency for the same but to no avail.
It also claimed that despite of submission of the report to the DDSE for the required fund has yielded no response. The committee further said that the school land will be returned to the donor if both the demands are not met.

ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The Silsango Circle Headquarter Development Committee has demanded for posting of a regular CO along with staff at Silsango under Papum Pare district.
In a memorandum submitted to the chief minister, it said that the newly created Silsango circle is being administered by Mengio CO. Due to the dual charge, the officer is not able to give equal justice to the job and public of the area are the ultimate sufferer.
It also urged for providing job opportunities to the land donors in C and D grade jobs.
As per the agreement, state government had agreed to provide C and D grade jobs to the land donors of the circle, but till date nothing has been materialized yet, it added.

Daily FM service from AIR Itanagar
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: All India Radio (AIR), Itanagar is launching its first local FM transmission from tomorrow (Oct 2).
The service will be formally launched by AIR Itanagar office head Rajesh Chandra at a simple function at 7.30 pm.
Originating from AIR Itanagar the duration of the FM transmission will be from 7.30 pm to 10 pm daily. The highlights of the new FM service will be regional news bulletins in Hindi and English from 7.45 pm followed by local based discussion programmes, Radio on Demand (phone in request for Hindi film songs), Foot Tappers (Western music), Classic Hindi film songs. The service will be available on 103.1 MHz.
The launching of the new service was announced by ADG Programme, NE Region V Lalrohsanga during his visit to AIR Itanagar earlier this year.

NPF Lower Subansiri district unit president Subu Kechi in a press statement today clarified that NPF is a recognized regional political party like TMC of West Bengal, DMK & AIADMK of Tamil Nadu, RJD & JD (U) of Bihar. NPF party is legally recognized by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and nothing should be doubt about it, he added.
“Since Arunachal Pradesh is under union Govt, and India is a democratic country, therefore, the NPF party can form and contest election in the entire north east states as well as in other states also. If any other regional political parties like RJD, JD (U), NCP, TMC, DMK, AIADMK can form their party unit in the state, why not NPF,” questioned Kechi. He further thrashed all allegations labeled against NPF leaders of state. The NPF party suggested that, “Student Unions should not involve and interfere in political activities rather they should always focus and works for the welfare of student’s communities in state.”
NIMAS conducts basic mountaineering course
ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The inaugural basic mountaineering course conducted by National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Dirang concluded today.
The institute established four camps at New Melling (9000 feet), Mago (11,600 feet), Jithang (13,500 feet) and Merathang (14000 feet) in Tawang to reach the mountaineering training area, informed Director of the Institute Gulshan Chadha.
The rock climbing training was conducted at New Melling.
The ice craft and snow craft training were conducted at a glacier located close to Gorichen Peak base camp at height of 16,500 feet. The trainees were also imparted skills in survival and navigation.
Keeping in view the requirements of adventure tourism industry, the trainees were also taught about trekking guide, trek planning and soft skills.

ITANAGAR, Oct 1: The 12 Pakke Kessang Indigenous Youth Organization has sought the
intervention of the Chief Minister and the Chief secretary to take action against
wrong doers who were allegedly misused the fund for construction of playground and
rostrum under Pakke-
Armed with RTI papers the organization said that payment against the sanctioned playground and rostrum were reportedly paid to the respective contractors, but in reality the contractors were not aware of the works/supply order in their names. The organization further said that when sought through RTI the concerned department had failed to produce the papers like money receipt, utilization certificates and name of the contractors saying that the concern documents with the original signatures were damaged by termites. The organization expressed suspicion that the fund amounting to Rs 17 lakh might have been “drawn by some powerful persons and the department was trying to hide the facts.”
The Organisation has also appealed the Govt to direct the concern department to furnish the document sought instead of applying “avoiding tactics” like documents being damaged by termites, torn, lost or burnt etc.
The organization, meanwhile, requested Health and Family Welfare Minister Atum Welly to provide sufficient medicine/equipments in 12 Pakke Kessang constituency. It also demanded posting of sufficient teachers at schools of Pakke Kessang area and maintainance of damaged roads.

After the 25th years of our Statehood, Mr Talo Potom ADM cum CEO seems as a real administrator and law abiding officer in our state especially in Capital Complex. He is living inspiration for the young generation of state. The whitewash of tinted paper from all types of vehicles, allotment of many common parking places, stoppage of illegal encroachment of govt quarter and land, drive against vendors & structures in the NH52 etc. A lot of credit for all these goes to MrTaio Potom sir.

Capital citizen lacks driving sense
Dear Editor,
I wish to draw the attention of concern authorities towards traffic indiscipline in our capital i.e. Itanagar. I was saved from death once recently due to someone's rash driving near the Ganga market. I would like to share that drivers hardly follow lane discipline, particularly young people, as a result of which accidents are increasing tremendously. Overtaking from the wrong direction, not giving proper signals, over speeding are just some of the ills of our traffic system here.
Unless immediate steps aren't taken to stop such behavior on roads, life in Itanagar will remain a hazard. Adding to this, unless rule breaker isn't punished strictly by the concern authority instead of taking fine "The lane sense is the sane sense" will remain a mere slogan. The big question is why one should suffer due to other's reckless driving.

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to appreciate the APPSC for early declaration of result of various exams in the recent past. The way the APPSC functions nowadays is really appreciable and encouraging for the job fighters.
The commission has declared the result of APPSCCE prelims exam within four days and again the written result of TIO within two months. Obviously, this is a positive sign for the Sunemployed youth of the state. And definitely, these works would help to revive the unemployed youth's hope for fair play in the recruitment process. I hope APPSC will keep on doing their noble works honestly without any discrimination. At the end, I request APPSC team to declare the written result of FPO exam as soon as possible.

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to alert my fellow Arunachalees that whoever go to Dibrugargh for any purpose and depends on hotel stay there, must not stay at hotel, RAJA GUEST HOUSE". I along with my wife reached Dibrugarh on 28th sept,2013 at 4.30 am for medical treatment and we got looted just outside of the said hotel gate by four miscreants when chowkidar was about to open the iron gate. Both the manager and chowkidar of the hotel enjoyed watching the whole episode instead of helping their customer by opening the Iron Gate if not atleast shouting for help. All my belongings including costly mobile hand set, purse containing Rs,10,000 (Ten thousand) ATM card, Driving licence and identity card were snatched away by four miscreants but alas! The hotel men were the main culprits as they were only the silence on lookers of the whole episode.
